A list of our most common questions is displayed below.

How can I save an extra $20 on my order of postcards? (size 4X6 and up)

We give you the option to save $20 by allowing us to place a small (5pt. type size) tag-line on the back of your postcards.

The line will read: adsbypds.com 818.764.0823

How long will it take to upload my files?
Uploading may take a very long time depending on your connection speed. You can check the status bar on our upload page.
Can I receive a printed proof of the Business Cards or Postcards?

Yes. We do provide printed (hard copy) proofs. We also provide online proofs if we design the piece, the proof will be sent through e-mail. You may request a printed proof for flyers or brochures printed on 100lb Gloss Text for an additional charge.

Can you quote items other than what is listed?
Yes. We would welcome the opportunity to quote any print job you may have.
Please note that quotes are only good for 30 days and may be revised if ordered after 30 days.
Do you offer terms or can you bill me?
No. We require payment in full prior to any order being completed. We accept money orders, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Note that all checks must be cashed before we process your order.
Can I request PMS colors?
We do not utilize PMS colors. Everything is printed using 4-color process, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. (CMYK)
What paper stock do you print on?

All our products are printed on a 14pt. Cardstock with UV Coating, on a 100# Gloss Book with an aqueous coating or on 70# Finch Fine Bright White Premium Paper.

14pt. Cardstock is used for business cards, postcards, rack cards, bookmarks, tent cards, door hangers and presentation folders.

100# Gloss Book is used for flyers, brochures, posters, door hangers and catalogs.

70# Finch Fine is used for letterheads and envelopes.

Why are your prices so low?
Pds is able to offer low prices because we print in large quantities, with hundreds of other print jobs on a large sheet of paper which is then cut down, also known as "Group" printing. This reduces the cost of plates and other fees.
How are returns and refunds handled?

All sales are final. No refunds are available on orders unless files have not been sent to press and refund is requested the same business day. Should the job contain manufacturing errors and/or defects upon receipt, we will rerun the job at no charge. We maintain the right to judge what a manufacturing error and defect is. There will be no refunds on any time sensitive jobs.

If a return is granted, you must return the job that was sent to you unused.
Please note that all complaints must be registered within 24 hours of receipt of job.

Can I order a lower quantity than you have listed?
Our minimums are fixed and we do not offer lower quantities than what is listed on our website. In most cases, 250 is the lowest quantity that we offer. If you shop around you will see that we offer 500 pieces for less than other printers offer for 250 pieces.

Can I split print quantities?
Quantities cannot be split up due to gang-run printing. For example a 500 business card order will be placed on our 500 sheet press run. If you need two names, you will have to place two orders of 500 each.
Is there an extra charge for bleed?
No. All our prices include free bleed. The bleeds should be 1/8" all around. Due to a small shifting that may occur during cutting, it is not recommended that you have a border. We will not guarantee that the border will be exactly the same size after trimming. (Extra charge for bleed on door hangers)
Can I e-mail my files?
No. Please do not submit files via email unless you are contacted and given specific instructions on e-mailing your files. Due to many e-mail viruses, if you submit your order through e-mail they will automatically be deleted and we will not get your order.
Are my images the right resolution?

Raster graphics such as TIF and JPG files must have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch). Images with a resolution less than 300 DPI will reproduce poorly on press, the image will look fuzzy and/or pixilated.

You should not use any images from a website on the internet. The internet displays images at 72 DPI which is low resolution and should not be used for printing and may result in loss of quality.

What do I do if I don't see the postcard size I am looking for?
In this case, order the closest size that your postcard will fit into, be sure to mention the final trim size. Please contact us at Pds 818.764.0823 for further information.
Is my text too close to the trim?

Text or images that are not meant to be trimmed off the edge of your printed piece must be 1/4" (.25) from the edge of your layout. Images that are meant to go to the edge of your design must extend into the bleed area 1/8" (0.125)

Due to a small shifting that may occur during cutting, it is not recommended that you have a border. We will not guarantee that the border will be exactly the same size after trimming.

What are the file types that you accept?
Adobe Photoshop (.tif, .jpg, .png and .psd)
Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .eps, .pdf - outline fonts)
Adobe Indesign (.indd, - include fonts)
QuarkXpress (.qxd - include fonts)
what do you mean by (4/0), (4/1) or 4/4)?
4/0 refers to Full Color on the front and Blank on the back.
4/1 refers to Full Color on the front and Black/White on the back.
4/4 refers to Full Color on the front and back.
